Welcome to the website of 2499 (Wokingham) Squadron, Air Training Corps.
If you are already a member of the Squadron then I hope you find the site informative. If you are not a member, then have a look at what we do and then come and try it out on one of our induction nights.
Activities range from acadmeic training to BTEC standard in Aviation Studies and Public Services through shooting and marksmanship to outdoor pursuits such as rock climbing. The opportunity exists for cadets over 16 to fly a motor glider solo after the requiste training and therefore "put their wings up" before they can learn to drive a car.
There is no obligation to join the Royal Air Force, but many cadets go on to do so, finding their ATC training useful during their Basic Service Training.
