On the 2nd of October 2011 Thames Valley Wing, which consisted of Wokingham, Woodley, Reading, Windsor and Earley Squadrons travelled to RAF Lyneham for Regional Activities Day. The Wokingham Squadron contingent consisted of Cpl Hargreaves, Cpl Ricketts and Cpl Bartley for the Aircraft Recognition Competition.
On Arrival to RAF Lyneham we were whisked away to the Aircraft Recognition Competition and were finished by 1000hrs. For the rest of the day we were waiting to find out about how the other Squadrons had done with their competitions.
The Results:
Aircraft Recognition Team - Wokingham - 3rd.
Aircraft Recognition Individual - Windsor - 3rd
Drill - Woodley - 1st.
Website - Earley - 1st.
Banner Drill - Reading - 2nd.
Best Wing - Thames Valley!
Overall - Thames Valley - 3rd.
So all in all, a good day out for Thames Valley Wing. Woodley Squadron are now going on to represent South West Region at Corps for Drill and Earley for the Website.
