Flt Lt Martin Lines joined 2509 (Chipping Sodbury) Squadron as a cadet in 1974. He progressed through the ranks to the heady height of Cadet Sergeant and was a founding cadet of 2509 Detached Flight in Frampton Cotterell (now 37 Squadron).

Moving to Reading he joined 2499 Wokingham Squadron in 1984 as a Civilian Instructor. As a member of the Squadron staff he ran the Radio Room and Adventure Training. Warrant Officer (WO) Jonathan Lambert ATC - Squadron Warrant Officer

WO Jon Lambert joined 2499 Squadron as a cadet in 1988 and continued through until 1996, reaching the rank of Cadet Warrant Officer, evidence of the odd sense of humour held by the incumbent OC. During this time he was a member of the Squadron full and small bore shooting teams, gaining a Wing Representative Award for small bore target rifle and organised many Adventure Training weekends. Rumour has it that there may have been an certain amount of foot drill involved as well.

Jon rejoined the Squadron in 1998 and was appointed as an WO in November 2000, completing the Drill Instructor Course in 2002. He is currently the Squadron Warrant Officer, responsible for drill, discipline and supply. He was appointed the Wing Warrant Officer for Thames Valley Wing in July 2006, evidence of the odd sense of humour held by the Wg Cdr.

Jon is an Air Traffic Assistant at the London Area Control Centre, Swanwick. In his spare time he enjoys photography, rock climbing and hill walking in a smart, uniform manner.
